I'm a patient man. But this past month has been frustrating, 3 straight weekends where something has gone wrong to the network which ruined the promoting momentum. Which probably cost me 1000s of dollars in sales.

I just wanted to start a thread where people placed their concerns. And don't just bitch and whine. Before you criticize, it would be nice to know who you are. There are way too many anonymous webmasters (or newbies) who complain and are the ones to blame for the demise of AB. This thread is to make evident what us webmasters are concerned about and possibly help AB with issues, or just make them aware of our problems. Many of us are experienced and make thousands of dollars monthly and would like to grow with the network.

My latest problem and biggest problem is servers getting full. Here's my suggestion:

what i've seen done elsewhere is centralizing the movies. the movies only exist on one machine. when you order a movie you get permission to post the link (either php/cgi link) in your members area. this is done server side so webmasters who never ordered the movie cant link to all the movies without ordering them.

basically all that would be in the members area are pics and html. no movies, they'd all be centralized and linked through a download link. this way you can use servers to load balance popular movies. And most importantly no more servers that get full in the blink of an eye.

I still recommend getting rid of about 600 AB sites that dont cut the mustard. some people are meant to promote and not build web sites. just like the ugly arent suppose to be bikini models.

my next problem and suggestion will be about the ugly DRM

well, im thinking the same as you, just one thing that really should be mentioned: lack of communication

when you send an email to a so called tech support, and a month later you still didnt received a reply.... there is a big problem. certainly if this happens more and more. the 5 last emails i sended (concerning different matters) are still unanwsered, after weeks.

I know they are overloaded, just put someone taking care off the comunication bit, it's an important one.

Personaly, i know i would be a lot more calm and less picky if i would at least receive an email telling me they are working on the problem but that i shouldnt expect any results before at least one week.

Because now.... full of problems but nothing from theyr part.

Totally in agreement.

I've been promoting heavily lately and I'm finally getting good, regular, signups. However in 5 weeks, I've only managed to get 2 movies out of the 20+ I've ordered.

I've opened 3 support tickets, sent emails, messages etc. Yet, still nothing.

Now I have another 22 credits this month, but I honestly can't see the point, as I had 17 last month and only got 2 movies.

It's really hard answering my members about updates, because I've hit a brick wall with AB. That's not to mention answering my members about why my site is up (I host it myself) and the members area is down all the time, well that is another story alltogether.

AB need to take on extra staff if they can't cope with the present workload.

Or delete all those shitty 1 page sites.

Or better still a bit of both.

i agree with Supafly, i think there are way too many sites taking up space.

we should play Survivor voting off crap sites. If we want a successful network then why not be surrounded by great sites.

another suggestion may be an upsell program. for those sites who generate traffic then why not put a link to a great AB site for an upsell. make 4 or 5 dollars of the $15 just for sending traffic. some sites would have never gotten a sale so $5 is better than nothing.

some people are better submitters than site makers. If there was less sites then possibly AB would get better titles to keep up with competition.
i think way too many webmasters open too many sites without perfecting one and you just end up taking up AB resources.

Isn't that how it is already set up? All I have in my members area is images and html files... and the "contentserver" folder, which contains virtual links to the movies that reside elsewhere. The contentserver movies are not located on your server per se. When you get a movie "copied" to your "contentserver" folder, really all that happens is an AB tech creates a new virtual link in your contentserver folder.

The way to prevent "disk full" errors, is to enforce disk space quotas on all the accounts. Currently it seems there are no quotas, or if there are, they are not being properly configured/enforced.

Well with so much downtime lately, I've lost 6 members in the last week. And only got one signup, as opposed to getting many daily.

Can't say I'm surpised, as everything's being going up and down like a yo-yo, and with no new movies, why bother to hang around.

AB really needs to take a long hard look at the current state of things.

AB need to get their act together. We can't keep members without movies, and we can't update our sites unless AB approve them. I've been waiting more than 10 days for movies!

HURRY UP AND APPROVE THEM!

i lost one of the biggest ethnic mgp sites in the past 12 hours due to the cgihosting downtime. it was down for 48 hours+ when servers were being relocated and it took me two weeks to recover from that and you know what? now that i just got my traffic back i lost it AGAIN!)(@# this box has been down for the past 24 hours and no techs are talking! and the thing that pisses me off the most is that i will NOT get it back again because no one with the right mind will trade with such a site! ab servers are REALLY starting to piss me off!!! should i start looking for another job? this is what i'm doing now @ http://www.ebaumsworld.com/papertoss.html
