in google its definetly how many people link to you the problem is if they dont get spidered it wont matter if you type your full url in google see how many pages show up that link to you. i thought having these pornlisting sites like hqporn and myporn would help me but it doesnt because you link constantly moves down and out of there site and doesnt get listed also if the users sites that have u linked dont have the code for spiders to come back and index them its pointless im starting to figure that out now if they dont list you on the page thats spidered by search engines it wont matter.like my index page (aka warning page) is indexed thoughs people will get my site as an added site thats linked to them because that page is indexed and i have a code to tell the spiders how many days to come back and reindex my site the problem with me now is that im not going to link to sites now that want to put me on a page thats not getting indexed beacuse that wont help me with SE's. the more sites that link to you that are indexed the more youll move up in SE's im just learning that and i made a mistake not to check that before but that is changing for me now.
hope this helps im getting tired of typing.

G'day Korny,

There's a Shitload of stuff you need to do to improve your position with the SE's. I wrote this article for WebmasterWorks. It's what works for me.

Search Engine Tips

Nobody should ever discount the importance of Search Engines and the traffic they can generate for your Site. In the main, you can get yourself listed on the major Search Engines, like Yahoo and Google, and it won’t cost you anything more than a few hours of research and work.

Firstly, Meta Tags are all important. Even more important though, is formatting your Meta Tags for optimum performance. Too many people make use of their Meta Tags, but make basic mistakes. Some of these mistakes include using the same words more than 3 times, using too many words/characters for the specified tag, or they don’t include enough words/characters in others. The number one mistake with Meta Tags is incorrect spelling. It’s true, some people make spelling mistakes when doing a search, but most SE’s will now correct those errors and suggest the correct spelling. If you make a spelling error you dramatically reduce your chances of being discovered in a search.

A great resource for checking your Meta Tags is the Meta Tag Analyzer at Scrub the Web. This free tool analyses your Meta Tags, right from your online URL, and gives you a brief outline of its status. There is a paid service which goes into much more detail and provides a great deal more information, however the free version is good enough to get you started.

www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/meta-check.html

I use the free version and after some adjustments to my Meta Tags, have had a modicum of success with Yahoo. My little Site in Australia receives over 80% of its traffic from Search Engines and is listed in the top 20 search results on Yahoo under many popular terms. In addition to Meta Tags, you should endeavour to include popular terms on your Site itself. This technique works extremely well and I’m listed in the top 20 search results on Yahoo for Playmate© and Playboy©.

Including key words on your Site is not just a matter of stringing a few words together and getting listed as a result. You have to include the terms in relative context, that is, what you say has to have meaning and must make sense. Most SE’s will treat unrelated words as spam and just ignore them. If you use words such as Playboy© and Playmate©, then you must have the right to use them, as they are copyright. If you advertise Playboy©, for instance, then their use shouldn’t be considered an infringement of copyright. Just make sure it’s relative to your advertising.

Another way to include key words on your Site is to write an information page. Explain to your surfers what your Site is all about. Make sure you take time to make it read properly, (context and meaning). Again, words without meaning will be ignored. Don’t write stuff like: “Girls free fucking cocks and pussy”, as it doesn’t make much sense.

Write stuff like: “We have free galleries of girls who like to fuck and take cocks deep in their pussy listed in the hardcore section of our site.” This is more likely to be seen as relative text and has a greater opportunity of being read by the SE’s.

Where you have banner ads, make sure you include some text in your link. There are two reasons for this.

1. Surfers are more likely to click on a banner if there is some descriptive text associated with it.
2. Your text will be read by the SE’s, adding to your opportunity to have key words associated with your Site.

Link popularity is extremely important. How many times your Site URL appears on other people’s Websites is another factor for determining your positioning with the SE’s. This is where link trades with other Sites become useful. TGP’s and MGP’s gain better positions with the SE’s, purely because of the amount of Sites on which their banners/links appear. Be careful though, don’t get caught up with the Circle Jerk Sites. If you trade links with a bad Site it can have a detrimental effect on your business. The most important thing to do when considering link trades, is not to do anything which will annoy your surfers. If you send people to Sites full of re-directs and blind links, it will cause you more harm than good.

You can also improve your link popularity by submitting galleries to TGP’s and MGP’s. If you submit galleries which only reference your sponsors, then you’re wasting an opportunity to improve your link popularity. Make sure your Site link appears on every gallery you submit. A good way to do this is to say something like “This gallery is bought to you by …. Your Site and link”. This method of increasing your link popularity is entirely in your hands. You’re the one making the galleries, you’re the one submitting them, so you can use them to your advantage. Always stay within the guidelines of the TGP/MGP you’re submitting to, but don’t miss the opportunity to include a link to your own Site, even if the gallery is hosted on your own domain.

When writing your Meta Tags, make sure you only include words which are relative to your Site. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll gain from including a popular generic word like Computer, if your Site is all about Porn. You may well get a heap of visitors who typed Computer in their search, but what value to you is it if they get directed to your Site? They are after Computers, not Porn, and they’ll close the page as soon as they realise what your Site’s about. (Presuming they even bothered to click on it from the SE, in the first place). All you’ll do is chew up Bandwidth and lose an opportunity to include a relative term in your Meta Tags. Every unrelated term you use is one more relative term you can’t use.

Title Tags are very important too. Make sure your title is exactly that, a Title. This is an opportunity to set your Site up and tell potential visitors what your Site is all about. Because Title Tags are so important, you should spend some time coming up with a good name for your Site. Once you have a good name, make sure it’s what you use in your Title Tag. A Site name by itself is often not enough, add a few descriptive words to it. Let’s pretend our Site is named The DVD Library. Not a bad Title, but your library could contain anything. If you’re offering Sex DVD’s, the your Title Tag should read something like “The DVD Library – Offering Sexually Explicit DVD Movies” Your Title Tag should be no more than 60 characters, including spaces.

Description Tags are an opportunity for you to expand a bit on your Title Tag. A Description Tag looks like this “META NAME="Description" CONTENT=". Your Description Tag should be no more than 150 characters in length, including spaces.

Keyword Tags allow you to really set your Site up. Your Keyword section is where you just plonk in words which are relative to your site, but don’t have to be phrased. A Keyword Tag looks like this “META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT=". This Tag should contain no more than 874 characters, including spaces.

One important tip about Keyword Tags is they should not contain words which are repeated more than 3 times. Your Keywords are separated by a comma, but you can fall into the trap of repeating words, thinking sexy, and sexy girls are two different words. Just because you haven’t separated sexy girls with a comma, doesn’t mean it won’t be counted as sexy. (Girls will also be counted and if your tag contains words like “pretty girls, young girls, old girls, skinny girls”, then girls counts as 4). Words which appear more than 3 times in any one tag will be considered spam and will be ignored by the SE’s.

The above Tags are enough to get you started and if you get those right, everything else you add, in terms of Meta Tags, will assist you in gaining a better position with the SE’s. Other Tags you should consider are:

meta name="revisit-after" content=

meta name="robots" content="

meta name="distribution" content="

meta name="rating" content="

meta name="language" content="

Finally, don’t discount your local version of the SE’s. Yahoo, for instance, have several versions and on the Australian version of Yahoo, my little Site is listed #1 under many popular search terms. In almost every instance where I have a top 20 listing on Yahoo’s main Site, I have a #1 listing on the Australian version. I have a .com.au domain and this is what assists me in gaining a better position on the Australian Yahoo. If you have a .com.de, or .com.pl, or .com.fr, or .com.uk etc, make sure you submit to your local version of your SE. Yahoo call theirs Local Yahoo!s and the local versions are listed at the bottom of their Site.

Hope you get something from it.

Fair Dinkum?

Well then, I hope you get something from what I've written. :D

I forgot to mention, that Scub the Web Site, which Analyses your Meta Tags, also has a free submission service. Once you've got your Meta Tags right, you can Submit to some popular SE's there too.

I've never paid for a Submission Service, nor have I ever paid for SE positioning. I'm happy with what I get from the SE's, and even my new Site, which has only been up for about a month, is getting SE hits. Get your Tags right, place some relative text on your pages and you're in business.

That artical is great man... There is a few things I would like to add that help me.

Back DOOR PAGES IS A MUST!!! On most sites I have listed in google or yahoo and the other millions of SE places is Back door pages. Some sites of mine have 50 back door pages and some have 1000's. back door pages are key words amoung keys words linking to other keywords supported by key word deffinitions.

When making your page you can have hidden text. People wont see it but se spyders will so when you add key words to your site, if you want to hide them you can.

BLOGS Are the new and best thing. Hard to tell you what they are besides saying they are like a message board. Look em up. There are tons of free ones out there.

You dont have to be listed on any sites to help your pr ratting. Here is a trick.. Link to higher sites listed in your niche.. This way if you linking to the #1 guy. Your site will move up faster cause he is number one. Invisable linking. Now on a downfault. If you don't have permission the webmaster will ask you to remove there links.

Also linking page 1 page 2 page 3 back to page one will help. Also add them with a "Click here for page 2" or what ever page. Can be invisable also and small.

linking back to google, yahoo and other tgps help. Also this is a great way to add . links... example:
< a href"http://www.google.com" > . < /a > added extra spaces cause i didnt know if it would straight link. But this helps also.

Other then that I would say Aussiemade made some really good points.
