Hello guys and gals,
I'm currenbtly trying to come up with a good explanation for my members as to why they suddenly can't merge movies etc. With "good" I mean an explanation that sounds even good to them  . What are you telling them?
If anyone could post an example, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and regards,
Honeysuckle

G'day Honeysuckle,
Better titles, and a wider range. Everyone seems to be really happy with the wider range on offer and some of the titles offer really good viewing. You need to be careful with your selections, cause there's still some dogs in there, but in the main I think the selection is by far the biggest selling feature.
The other thing is, you'd hate your members to pay for a flick that they could have downloaded for free from Kaaza. DRM prevents that.
You can be a lot more confident the titles we're now getting are more exclusive and less likely to be found in a non DRM environment.

so far, zero adultbouncer titles, even before DRM, can be found on kazaa. You got a lot of Vivid and Wicked titles though. It's all about availability and file size.
Consider how japanese porn is non-DRMed and highly sought after, yet few titles are available in their full form because even under a gig, keeping too many takes up too much space and most people burn them onto blank media anyways instead of keeping them on their hard drive.
Right now, our business is selling to the ignorant. harsh words, but true. =/

i agree with Movie Guy - our industry does sell to the ignorant. But that is every industry. No one needs a prada bag, $200 pair of running shoes, platinum 'teef', souped up honda civics etc. No one needs porn, but we have to be brain washers and make them believe they want it. we have to create the hype and the guys who are successful not only provide great content, but ease of use and that bit extra that distinguishes themselves from everyone else. It's hard to compete with professional pay sites with an unlimited bank account.
trust me i get my emails of DRM complaints but all i say is we're growing and are going to have so much content that people wont have time to burn movies because they'll be better stuff up the next day. And in the end it's to protect their memberships from being hacked as well and keep memberships down.
In the end we have to work with the limitations of the AVS we're with. There are other options out there but they all have their faults, we have to adapt to them. To tell you the truth my signups are increasing as i'm finding the right formula that works for me. We have to stay positive.

From this and what I've read in the previous posts I'm getting the impression that you are actually not pro-actively (what a fucking buzzword) telling your users about the change. Right?

My hits and sales are climbing thanks to the new content (and mgp posts...thanks again aussie...you helped get me out there further) and i don't even mention the DRM...at least not on my NEW mainmenu i'm putting up soon.
I'll deal with emails WHEN they START coming in...no complaints yet....go figure!

we will need the increase in movie credits otherwise it would be for naught.
Consider that 3 movie credits a month with non DRM content. Now 3 movies a month that are DRM'ed. The goal is to put so much more content that people won't care about DRM. 3 credits won't cut it so the new system to have credits based on signups is much appreciated.
makes it tougher for new webbies though.

Agreed. Perhaps there should be a Startup amount? 6 Movies? It could even be a Template Site. You get to choose from say, a dozen titles and build from there.
It's a struggle starting up a new site.
