I hear a lot of complaints from using paypall. IE people paying then say they never get what they ordered. In gaming when selling stuff this has been a huge problem, IE selling in game items. However, I havn't heard anyways side from adult sites.
The problem is gaming is that you could never really prove that you sold the person the item because it was digital. Paypal almost always takes the buyers side. Also they will auto withdrawl the money from your account and temporarly stop it. I am just saying that this could become a big problem with the AB sites...
However, it could make them more favoriable for people to sign up since not many sites use it (that I have seen).

I thought I'd share this with you:
http://www.paypalsucks.com/
besides, I'm in no relationship with that website nor do I know if those statements are to be taken serious but it makes me think.

I don't think expanding methods for people to spend money is a bad thing.

I LOVE Paypal.
Why? Simple:
As a European Webmater I have to pay my bank 12 USD for every US-cheque I cash. But if I withdraw money from my Paypal-account it only costs me 50 cents.

Everyone will be happy until Paypal starts doing autowithdrawls from your bank account( says nothing about that when you sign up for paypal )...
And they have some VERY odd rules about credit cards that affects not only the payers account payees account....maybe they have stopped doing their questionable practices over the past year and a half but I do know a few people who have in fact had the things that paypalsucks.com talks about happen to them.
I haven't had any problems with Paypal to date but I just think everyone should know about the good a bad parts of this company...
Nero -thats why I will never verify my paypal account by putting in my bank account number, they can't withdraw money from you then. I'll just use the balance of my paypal account on items online or request a check from them to my home address to get around that issue.

Yah that's what I do now.....I just found out the hard way.....they only removed like 20 dollars though so it's not that bad.....
I know of some horror stories of large sums(hundreds) being removed...and you have to jump through hoops to get it back....
Paypal is good just have to pay attention to what they are doing....

be very careful with paypal...it is very nice additional if nothing happens..but if something does..omg..you will regret why you have signed up at the first place..
why i say this??..because paypal almost always take the sides of buyer..thus when buyers complain...funds are charged back.. not only that..they auto deactivate your account... i was almost screwed because paypal was withholding a HUGH amount of money from me ..i am not talking much more than a few hundred dollars....it was way way more than that...
stolen cc number also exist on paypal as well..i remember once they withdrawal money from my account after a month..telling me that a transaction i did a month ago was from a stolen cc # ....

I honestly dont want to hear another word about Paypal until it is done. It just bugs the crap out of me to hear about upcoming things that are no where near to being finished. Just surprise me.

They aren't talking about Adult Bouncer...
They are talking about paypal.....and rather people know fact than find out themselves...
seriously i would rather hear about these things then not know, and find out the hard way by getting screwed myself.

I use PayPal.Never had trouble. But it's truth one can't have the kind of confidence as with a traditional banking company. It's worth to look at www.paypalsucks.com.
My point is: since last month PayPal has been acquired by Ebay.So maybe will it no longer get idiot behavior. (such a big "institution" like Ebay can't take the risk to get wrong...)
As an european myself, PayPal is still the best way I have to do little business around the net...

I am finding myself oddly caught in the middle of this argument.
a) I want to know about the the crap that paypal has been putting people through and want to be careful about anything that may mean the loss opf money for me, better to see the pitfall a few feet away than to curse for days after falling into it.
But......
b)I am growing incredibly tired of listening to what can only be called "chicken heads"
oh...i mean "chicken littles" complaigning about how the sky is falling because a few people mentioned something about paypal....or how about the visa credit card change......or what about a while ago when those who had teen content started freaking out because changes were coming because of teen sex....or even better, what about the massive freakout that happened when rob said he was changing to windows media?......
I can keep going, lets try a few more......remember when one guy copied a bunch of peoples sites???remember the loud bitch and moan fest???
one webmaster actually complained that the person in general had copied two lines of text from his site and used the exact font and size!!!!!
coping text!
keeping the exact font and size!
gallaries could be built and submitted in the time it takes to look for a subject to weigh in for.
it seems as if some webmasters who dont have enough to keep themselves busy look through threads to find something to jump in and join the bandwagon in crying
"me too....me too"
then they cry about not having any signups?
I dont have to mention names...you guys know who you are
(and im not saying any of them have replied to this thread....or have they)
(creepy music plays in background)
the truth of the matter is that when paypal goes live rob will tell us how to use it. if theres a problem rob will find it and clean it. if theres a scandle rob will clean it up and drop whatever or whoever isnt making adultbouncer a better place.
end of story. show some trust.......
create some gallries.....
stop posting "chicken little" posts
(which do nothing but get everyone all worked up)......
and watch the money roll in.
and now that i have said my peace i guess those who dont agree can start loading thier guns,n open fire boys....

gezuz...the gestapo is everywhere now adays...
can't let people speak there minds...if it is about something stupid...granted it is annoying but no one is saying "the sky is falling"
it's more of a "don't be surprised if this happens" so we don't get the "OMG THE SKY IS FALLING AB IS FUCKING ME" type rants that we normally get...
it'd make more sense for people to know about it now then to come back later and piss people off...

not saying its happening here in this tyhread.....yet.
but after almost living on this forum last year i started seeing a pattern.
the pattern starts easily enough, then some poor newbie webmaster gets only half the story and statrs going nuts....this sets off alot of other people who would have otherwise not weighed in on a subject
9 times out of 10 the thread grows to wild accusations aqnd halftruths,
blindly missleading with bad info or scare tacticts.
then someone calls the guy out with a demand to prove what he's saying and the mill just stasrtsc all over again.
funny thing......
the moment i stopped living on the boards, and only checked in from time to time to gleam some knowledge from a veteran webmaster, thats when i started making money.
this forum needsw two of the three types it has
it needs the newbies to ask the questions
it needs the veterans who give good answers that are sound and solid
it deoesnt however need the webmasters who would take an innocent thread like this and turn it into "paypal...the shady company who killed kennedy and is coming for your bank account"
and now its time to sleep

yah...u got a point there....
I don't think anyone is saying paypal is the devil... It's like when my friend wanted to date my sister. I said he's not that bad of a guy, just watch out cuz he's done some shady things in the past. Like Nero said, just some warnings.

me and my wife are hardcore ebayers and i have a paypal horror story....
well someone bought something from me with a stolen credit card off of ebay using paypal. so since they paid me with stolen credit card paypal froze my account and withdrew all my money that was in that account.... i have yet to get it back over 2,000 dollars... so i dont trust them as far as i can through them
oh my God...these forums sometimes..why I rarely visit..
e-mail sent to me from a surfer to my main page...
"is not possible to pay with paypal?"....
appears that there is definitely a segment of the population that prefers this method of payment... more payment options=more signups...which in my opinion is what it's all about... 8)

I agree with you there Jez...but as I am typing this I am trying to get a refund back from paypal right now due to some wierd glitch in the email. The good thing is the support line works...the bad thing is the person on the line has no idea how to fix it....I am on hold right now waiting for her to get someone to fix it....
I'm more worried about the customers than I am about the money coming in. How are people supposed to use paypal if the stuff doesn't work the way it's supposed to...
If this turns out okay I will post here again but as of right now the support person is clueless....

11-13-2002, 06:49 PM
What's funny is I am still using paypal.
In any case...they couldn't fix it. So, I have to wait 30 days for there stupid system to reset, no they couldn't do it themselves. Only good thing is that it wasn't a lot of moeny. I am happy with that....

And so to end the drama...I get in contact with the payee...and we managed to fix the problem that Paypal cannot...
the problem is that paypal isn't bad...the support is crappy....But i have confidence adultbouncer support will be able to overcome this...

that God hear you!
I couldn't agree with you more Nero..we would be defeating the purpose if AB implements a payment option that ends up being inefficient or causes more trouble. However.. I am confident that AB will not support the use of an outside processor that has a track record of sub-par performance. I am sure alot of us remember the I-Bill nightmare that happened around this time last year. There were major issues that were eventually resolved..I am sure the same will happen with Paypal. Hope you get your problem resolved with them Nero... 8)

Payment via paypay will be awesome in my opinion. I hate having to wait for my check in the mail, plus I could stop worrying that it got lost.
Just my 2 cents. I hope it goes through.
Any new news about it?

so is there an indication when paypal payouts will become a fact??The post is well over a year old, and paypal came and went and it sucked. Ebay bought them out and got rid of any affiliation with adult companies.

There is no paypal, we no longer have them as a processor. So there will be no paypal at all! This is a very old thread and should be taken down. 8) Luck To You
