I'm considering buying some content for my archive. I just wondered if anyone knew the proceedure for this especially with the new drm protection. Do I have to pass the movies to AB to check through and add the protection before I add them to the my server or do they just need to send them a copy of the license and put them straight up? Also the movies I'm thinking of buying are in mpeg format, is this ok or do they have to be converted into wmv?
If anyone can help me with this I'd appreciate it

all content that needs to be drm-ed has to be in wmv but i can do mpeg to wmv with no loss so you dont need to worry. Ideally avi masters will also work fine. To get content encrypted by us, please get in touch with QA to get the licensing details approved. Once this is done we will give you a location to upload the content and you will have protected content within about 4 hours of submission as long as its between 9-5 on a weekday. This procedure will be automated soon and encryption will be available instanly on approval.

Thanks for the information Arun. One last thing do you have to have bought content encrypted or is it upto the webmaster himself?

The movies that you go out and liscnece yourselfdo not have to be converted to drm. Just keep the liscence handy in case ab asks you for proof.

Yea you have it GG. You dont have to get your own content DRM'd but I would pretty much count on maybe being ask for license and photo ids and signed model releases. If you wana put some new exclusive content up having the information handy would be a good idea.
Not to say that the AB staff will ask for it if they do then you will have it handy! Only if you want your content DRM'd will they want a fax of your info. 8) Good Luck To Us ALL!
