1) DivX 3.11 and below is allowed
2) Xvid is allowed.
3) or any other codec is allowed that is of course nothing above DivX 3.11
On top of that, we will NOT allow you to encode our content using other codecs as this will invalidate our licenses. Anyone doing so will be warned once.
This is the direction we are taking. If you would like to license your own content and encode it in any format you like by all means go ahead.
Also we are creating a filtering system where we will be able to detect the codec being used when an upload is completed. Since there is SOOOOOO much content uploaded its impossible for us to view every single clip so we are adding automation to it so it notifies us if there are forbidden codecs being used.
