Movie Splitter

I've just downloaded the Moviesplitter and tried to make an MPEG clip, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Does the Splitter only work on DRM-ed Movies, or can it be used on content previously downloaded?

So....do we have to use the movie splitter....i was just getting comfortable with my TMPGenc-plus to cut up my downloaded-to-my-HD vids.
