Hi all,

I've been around for a month or so and i was wondering what's the Cpanel used for ? I tried to search the forum before asking but didn't find anything relevant. Can someone explain me ?

Hi,

I'm not realy using CPanel but ive no choice to have an CPanel account to get into PHPMyAdmin access for MySQL Database...

But it's usefull for many things, you can get chat, forum, stats, manage your subdomains, sets some handlers for apache, create redirections, having a MySQL database, manage your error pages as follow: 400, 401, 403, 404 and 500 to made it costum to your website.

Create secured sections, for your own users, and there's lot more features that i'm not using, there's Fantastico that could get you some more stuff's.. pre-set scripts like PHPBB (forum) and lots more...

It's realy usefull to create dynamic pages in php to get access to that CPanel.

Ok thanks, even if i don't know anything about PHP Mysql and all those things.
The website i design will be the first i ever made.

I was just wondering if it could be useful for me but since i'm pretty newb in webmastering and sitebuilding...i think i'll wait a bit before messing with stuff beyond my understanding

Hi,

if you dont know anything about PHP & MySQL you should go see in Fantastico then, there's a lot of pre-programmed applications in PHP that you can install for your website.
