Hi,

I'm having a suggest but at the same time its a comment, ive been workin on my new site and i knew that not possible for CPanel to get a complete secured sections for the prv. subdomains, but it does not make sense to let people walk right through the door and see the member area.

I'd limited access to members section only on the first page, as if a surfer that does'nt want to pay for access to the members area wont get a lot of chance to do it, but should be way better if the prv area could be completely secured, as a non-CPanel account...

Could it be possible to do it?

Thanks

At this time we can not do this. Reason is right now we store password file for all customers in a normal text file. If we store a copy on the cpanel server where webmasters have free will to do what they want using PHP then we have a very very very big chance of it being stolen. All we need is a hacker to get access to our password file.

imagine someone got access to the password file, youll see thousands of hacked passwords and then sales will drop in result of it.

Why don't just make read all htaccess from prv. sections your text files?

Thanks

because when your hacked..this usually means root

root can do anything. sorry but we cant go that route. to much risk.

long time ago some of our boxes were hacked because we offered php/cgi on them... exploits in to many things we offer...hard to maintain everything
