We are trying to free space and you should have space soon probably within the week.

Come on...we should've gotten a new box too...our server is full, like, every week... :x

some of us state that we "add new movies every two weeks", can't do that when the server is down for three.... :(

kinda destroys our credability and make us look like irresponsible site owners.

Once our members walk, where do you think they walk to? Another members site...ahhh, but what do you care?

You guys get paid regardless of who gets the sign-up and we lose out.

Between the old-as-methuzala back-ups of our sites and server down-time...i'm surprised we still get signups at all.

Don't get me wrong...i love AB and will stay and take the bad with the good....it just seems server 207 gets more bad than good.

Lots of servers go through the server full horribleness... Believe me I know. But christ, what other avs has so many full movies and so many webmasters... You think the servers are gonna run like friggin silk with all this traffic and space need. I'm sure that AB is working on it and it will get better before it gets worse. Remember what Socrates once said: Stop bellycunting and deal with what you are lucky to get for zero price and unlimited payoff, before shitting on what you want next.

ps. I want to go against the grain so to speak, and make a site where clothed people just hug each other lovingly and talk about how their day was at work. Think there's a market?

Like i said...In My Honest Opinion....i have my thoughts and you have yours...i just actually say what's on my mind...

And I have every reason to be upset...I lost every member i had on one site because of disk full problems (That was my money...not yours Doc) free content and hosting or not...i spent the time and the energy to get those signups..i put together the pages, TGPs, etc., not you...these problems take money out of my pocket when members cancel...AB's pocket also (but not if they signup to another member's site, who get's paid then? NOT ME!)

Now that there's space...my movies contentserver is screwed up...so the update wouldn't matter at this point....until that's fixed.

And Lady luck must be making her rounds...'cause you're here at AB gettin' it free also. It's not like you haven't had a complaint...i'm just bein' real with how i feel and expressing it.

So back off Doc.

so lemme get this straight. freeing up space will help you get back members you already lost? with tgps and your hard work sign ups should be flowing in on a constant and regular basis. hopefully youre not running your site to satisfy a small group of members who generate your only income. the great thing about AB is that when people get bored with your site they go visit everyone else's and maybe stay longer when they find something they like. in that respect we all help each other make money. thats the trade off.

Please stop the flaming on here or I will make this section read only. Flaming is counter productive.

Calm down, space is being freed up.

Beleive it or not we free up about 100 gigs in one day and few hours later its full

each box consists of 1.5TB (thats the max we can put before CPU is bottle necked)

now again getting new servers which we already do to move sites to newer machines to free up space on older machines still causes delays since again data has to be copied to the new machine which takes a day or two

now monitoring 150 servers constantly and movign data around is very time consuming. Try picturing 90Terabytes of data, now try transfering 2 terabytes a day around machines to free up space.

When some other AVs's reach our status they will have same delays. We are bottlenecked at the network level, its not a server problem.

making this section "read only" sounds good. too many times people have multiple threads regarding the same topic throughout these forums. since this one is about "maintenance announcements" there should be no reason to respond here. plus it would encourage others to go thru more appropriate means of problem resolution like support tickets.

Haj...no..i will not get back my members, hopefully updating my site as i said i would will get the new ones I have, reason to stay.

Constant and regular basis? Too early to tell on that subject as i cannot submit galleries everyday, i do them manually...no auto-submit usage here.

I do run my site to satisfy the few members i have and no this is not my only income...but i'm not gonna toss my site and members to the wayside because of the fact that this money is residual income...All members are important to me and i will update my site as often as i say i do for even 1 member...word of mouth is stronger than you probably think.

Believe it or not....i'm not in this for the money...i'm in this because i can be.

We are trying to put together a solution so we can free up servers quicker and see server usage levels quicker as well. If we can stats this somehow then we can target issues before they arise.

Need to bring on more programmers which is already in the works to speed up programming :) Can never get enough programmers :)
