Ok being a complete newbie to adult sites etc i was looking good hard information on site promo.I want to put the work in to make it work and be a success if i get good quality info on tried and tested methods used by some of you more successful site runners. While i am waiting on my sight being processed i thought i would take the time and do some homework on promotion and site setups and looks.
Also are we allowed to use flash intros? And site templates etc to give a site a more sleak and pro look?
Thanx for being patient with my questions just to me if in life or net i do something i go all out to make sure i can do it the right way. What better way to find out the right nfo than from people who ahve been there and AB themselves.

Welcome
Lemme grab this oppertunity to answer some of your q.
1] You can use template - you create it or use site builder if you want ready amde template
2] You can use flash
3] search forum to find way to promot site. May be some web master will be happy to join link excahnge with you, you will get traffic from them as well as when your site is listed in new site catagory they will get traffic too
Thanks.

Your site can't be listed as when I visited your member's site I found that you did not update it to accomodate any content. Back and next links at top is not working. None of the pics leads to any movie content. Basically if some one sign up for your site, they see only index page in your site with some thumbnails which is leading to no where. If you apply to be listed, QA might will take it offline instead ....
Please fix it.
Thanks.

Don't understand as i was instructed i made all preview section links all link to Join page. And i just test every link back and next in members area and ALL work witin the frontpage and testing in a browser. The only "NEXT" is on last page because there is no more content to link it to now f ssomewhere along the line i may assume AB has messed up as it works my end but the life test according to you since i don't seem to be able access the live members section on the net doesn't work so i got chase my tail and AB's to source were and what has went wrong.According to the email i have site has been approved waiting for to be listed somewhere someone got something wrong everything working when tested my end all movies links that where provided were linked last week at some point and clicking on the pic thumbnails in member sections is not meant to do anything cause it does state in large text and red hilighted "click here to download" i can't fix what clearly when i am testing is 100% working sorry m8.As for emailing support all the emails i have from AB tell me to refer to this forum for support.
i just spent over an hour checking the site and members section and for good measure sent it up again to the ftp don't know why all files were identical.

34879, I just checked your site myself, with the link that AB-Jay posted. Your navigation at the top has a few working links, but not all of them. For example, Back and Next don't have any linking applied to them. I have posted the code for your navigation section below, to show what we are seeing. Notice that there is NO HREF applied to the text for Back and Next in the second section.

The same thing is happening with the download links. The text is there but there is no linking applied. I understand that it sucks not being able to see your live site. Just check through your code and you will see the errors that we are seeing.
If the code you have on your computer DOES have links, then maybe you're uploading to the wrong directory or not overwriting the file when uploading. I can't explain why it would have one set of code on your machine and on the server. Make sure that you are actually using an FTP program to access your FTP space and not just using an Explorer window.
Hope that helps,

np using flash ftp client, maybe i should delete the whole site on the ftp and re upload a fresh one and get it checked. As for the code i don't know code i use templates etc and have basic knowledge of frontpage but enough to get me through.Question see in the prv ftp i only upload the members folder nothing else to there right? And in the other ftp everything else except members are?just trying to see were i might have gone wrong.Or mayve consider scrapping the whole thing and using AB sitebuilder instead.

Your members section needs to be stand-alone. It cannot use files that are stored in your preview section. Whatever files you want to use from the preview section need to be placed in the members section and linked from there. That includes graphics, script files, anything and everything.

I get the feeling your uploading to the wrong place, so what we see is not what you have uploaded. Below is a shot of me pinging your URL's and they both work fine in my browser.

right this what i done i went to 206.53.60.99 my complete site was there and members section closed never touched it for now.logged in as norm to my prv ftp i deleted everything that was there and uploaded the members area only since everything in the members folder/area is all contained and linked within that place closed prv ftp. Then went to normal/preview ftp and deleted the entire site uploaded everything except the members area into there. Then went back into 206.53.60.99 and only thin there is the member folder and its contents. Now i was starting think this was my error uploading the complete site to both places hence the link confusion or lack off.So hopefully someone here from AB can now look at the members section and check the links. If this was the problem it should be corrected if not then i am stumped.

Inside the home directory you've created another directory called 'Members Arena' :-) (where you've uploaded all the files).
I've moved files to the home path. Now image directgory is missing.
Well, unlinke Testserver, you need not upload both preview and members site in both servers ;-)

i think i see what the problem was i left everything the the folder called members arena and uploaded it when all i needed to do was upload what was within the folder.I mage directory missing hmmm this for the screen shots which images are missing and i will try relinking and uploading the files.
i have a folder there called screenshots were the thumbnails were link to i am assuming since u moved everything out of the members folder it has to be re linked.
will do that and maybe it will be ok after that.Again i assume now all the download links are ok?just the images need fixing

do i resubmit it to qa for approval again?
Thanx

Hi 34879:
Please upload if you think you need to re-arrange or so. Your site is not yet listed. QA will review your site again when you'd ask him to list your site. QA's email id is: qa@adultbouncer.com.

Your site is already approved from what i see, but if you want listing in the categories then yes mail QA for that. Some webbies like to do some extra tweaking before asking there site to be made public though.
Damn ab-Indra beat me to it.

My recommendation is to build up a few movies on your site before getting put into the "new sites" section (which i think happens when you get listed). We got our listing when we had only a few movies + I now wish we'd waited until we had a few more movies built up.
Also, two other things:
1) Invest in the $30 for your own AB ID. You get about $15 of it back anyway.. and you only really need to spend that until you have 4 members, at which point you get a free ID to use. Anyway, an AB ID will allow you to verify your members site is working the way it's meant to.
2) RTFM. This sounds harsh, but you'll find it a lot easier to figure out why bits of your site aren't working if you "know the code". Templates will only take you so far in my opinion (though I'm sure others will disagree). Consider checking out the beginners section at www.webmonkey.com - HTML -really- isn't all that hard to master.
