MovieServer Suggestion - Better BoxCover pics

I would like to suggest another change to the MovieServer system (since that this appears to be the theme of the Month :D). This is pretty minor but can really help.

I would like there to be a large front and back pic of the Box Cover included once the movie is selected and approved. Not all the movies have the complete performer lists so including the front and back covers (larger than the tiny ones we currently get) would allow us to read the names off the cover. Also, since the male performers are never included in the description on the MovieServer, those who use the male performers names on their site can get them from the pics.

Right now, when I want the complete list of names and they aren't all included one the Movie Server listing, I look the movie up on Google (I love Google!) and get the box covers from DVD retail sites - and sometimes it is difficult to find the box covers. I shouldn't have to look elsewhere to get the details on AB movies.

I think sometimes there is a low quality front pic in the Pics.zip but I think this should be replaced with a high quality front and back pic.

Being able to better use the performers names helps SEO since pornstars are the most recognizable part of a movie, usually.

That's my suggestion.

I'd like to support what cbouchar has said. I think better looking covers will do everything already said, plus it would give us better representation to potential Members.

yeah, bigger covers will definitely be great. saves us the hassle. Rob mentioned he would provide these long ago! hehe

covers, more often then not, do not adequately identify the stars. Usually they'll just list them. IAFD still remains the best source for pinning the name with the scenes if you do not already recognize them.

But even IAFD doesn't have pics. If you are having trouble identifying a star for a certain movie, try my site to see if the movie or star is already listed.

Mate, it's not that people are lazy, it's just that while someone's doing the scan for the covers, or however it is they get them, they post bigger ones. :)

A lot of other Sellers have the Larger size, why not us?

we are already doing this also

we've begun adding actors/actresses + back box cover

theres alot of data to enter so we will add it as we go along and we will have the info available online for the movies we've begun adding them for :)

Great to hear that there will be better info and back cover available. Are the front and back covers still going to be so small or are they going to be larger? If they are going to be the current size, none of the text on the back cover will be legible!

What is the eta on this?

nope we already begun adding high rez box covers because we will need them ourselves soon in some other stuff we will be introducing.

im guess perhaps in 2-4 weeks the new data should start to appear.

I noticed the back cover is now available. That's great. Is there any chance that they could be large enough to read? Often there is performer info on the back cover that can only be read if the image is larger.

I agree...sometimes the name of the performer is placed with the face or scene (very useful).

D-XXX, you're so smart! Why don't you share with us the method that you use to determine the names of the performers in each scene? Does it include searching the net? Hoping that you can find the movie listed on someone else's site listing the info you need, possibly even on a competitors site?

AB has decided to share with us the front and back covers for us to use, and that's awesome, I am only suggesting that it can be more useful if they were large enough to read - that's what's being done on the other sites that you are getting your info from, isn't it? If not, how about you let us all know how you get your info?

usually the actual studio sites have a catalogue with their movies and details and big covers etc. That's not competition, that's the source.

even so the back covers aren't always useful because you get a list of names but you still need to figure out which is which. so you're back on searching the net for faces and names.. :wink:

Sometimes the back cover is the fastest way to get some info (performers mainly)...especially after i've hit up IADF (http://www.iafd.com/), SearchExtreme (http://www.searchextreme.com/), Adult DVD Empire (http://adult.dvdempire.com/v2_index2.asp) and Five Star DVD (http://fivestardvd.com/home.asp) for the info...so it's not like some of us DON'T do the work...i'd check other databases if you can give me some others to add to my bookmarks D-XXX (pm me a list if you want).

You know i'm one to do the work needed, but it'd benefit me more to know which performer is in which scene (which the back cover may or may not show, but it's worth a shot at checking, if it were legible).
