can't download movies for movisplitter

hi guys,

I would like to make movie clips with movisplitter but I didn't find the way to download the movies needed for the operation ?! I tryed to ask the QA but he seems to be unable to help me.

since a few times , movies are no longer in the member ftp and are just links in the movie content server.

You'll have to download the movies, from your members area (just like a customer), to your pc...if the movie is DRM protected, then you could use the moviesplitter, opening them from whatever folder you downloaded them to.

If their NOT protected, then use whatever splitter you have available...AB's moviesplitter only works on AB's DRM protected movies.

Unfortunately there is no way to download directly from the centralized movieserver, yet. :cry:

thank you babydred, I was just looking some post from you, you seems to know a lot on ab, that's good :).
You should take the place of this qa guy, I spent 2 weeks and more than 7 mails and he still not understand lol

anyway using only ab splitter is not good for me as I would like to take screenshot too (the one from the movie lounge are not usefull for me).

well... I don't want to be the bad guy but movies in Avi's format in the member ftp server will be the must like other AVS do...

Yep, I know it , thx for the infos anyway.
Doesn't change my problem for now as I cannot download any movie to make clip lol.
no clip = no gals = no traffic

Does anyone have an idea on when AB will give content to webmasters to promote their site ?

I really don't understand how AB works...

As I see :
- We have to make signup to get access to members area
- from there we download content and use movie splitter
- then we can make clip to promote our archives


well, avs are mainly promoted by gals wich contain samples. If I don't have samples I cannot promote my gals in any way. Or perhaps by buying some google adwords and send them directly on the archive without giving a sample to the visitor...

this mean webmasters that come to AB have absolutly NOTHING to promote their archives. This is the first time I see this at an AVS...

Please let me know if I missed something

Yes I understand your concern. All webmasters were able to download the movie files via FTP in the past when we copied the movies to their "contentserver" folder under their member server. But now we just begin to use centralized movies system which actually provide movie links from movieserver which can be used with your member's site. We will provide an option for webmasters to download movie files in the near future.

have you considered to signup on your own page to get access to members area and download movies.
As soon as you have your 4 members, just cancel the account.
The only option to get your movies fast at the moment, I think.

You shouldn't have to pay money (50% of a membership) in order to get access to what is required to build the site.

Sure, you shouldn't have to pay for promoting AB.
Also AB will solve the FTP problem soon.
But let's say you can get 10 signups in one month, that's around 150$ and you pay for your account 15$ than you still have 135$.
Or you wait till you get FTP access (perhaps 1 month) and make no money.
